How the VCE study score calculator works
This unofficial study score calculator combines your SAC average and exam mark using the exam weight you choose, then maps the combined percent onto the 0 to 50 VCE study score scale. Optional scaling is a simple point shift. Real VCE results use cohort scaling and SAC moderation that this page cannot apply.
How to use the calculator
- Enter your SAC average as a percent from 0 to 100.
- Enter your exam mark as a percent from 0 to 100.
- Choose 50%, 66%, or 33% exam weight to match the subject.
- Add a scaling adjustment only if you already have a typical subject shift.
Worked example
SAC 80 and exam 70 at 50% exam weight combine to 75%. Mapped to 0-50 that is 37.5, which rounds to 38. A scaling of +2 would show 40.
Understanding your result
Treat the number as a planning estimate. A 30 is near the middle of the 0-50 scale. ATAR is a separate VTAC rank from several scaled study scores. For US AP exams use the AP score calculator.
