How the target GPA calculator works

This target GPA calculator finds the GPA you need on remaining credits to hit a cumulative goal. It uses current GPA × credits earned, then solves for the remaining term. It does not calculate a single course grade or a final exam score.

How to use the calculator

  1. Enter your current cumulative GPA.
  2. Enter credits already earned.
  3. Enter the GPA you want.
  4. Enter remaining credits, then calculate.

Worked example

Current GPA 3.40, 60 credits earned, target 3.50, and 30 credits left: needed GPA = (3.50 × 90 − 3.40 × 60) ÷ 30 = 3.70.

Understanding your result

If the needed GPA is above 4.0, the target is not possible on a 4.0 scale with those remaining credits. Use the GPA calculator to add this term after grades post.
